ABOUT — THE PRACTICE

The name is new.
The judgment isn’t.

Lucid Sprint is a small, senior studio in British Columbia working with listed mining and resource companies. We have spent twenty years making public companies easier to understand.

THE PREMISE

There’s a discount
for being hard
to understand.

Plenty of listed companies trade below what the asset is worth for reasons that have nothing to do with the asset. The drill results are good. The filings are complete and on time. The story still doesn’t land, because nobody translated it out of the language of the technical report and into the language of the person deciding whether to own it.
That translation is the entire job here. Everything else, the website, the campaign, the letter, the earnings hub, is a delivery mechanism for it.
/01

The reader is a generalist

Assume the person deciding has eight minutes and no background in your commodity. Write for them and the specialists stay too. Write for the specialists and everyone else leaves.
/02

Say the hard number first

Grade, cash, dilution, runway. Burying the difficult number doesn’t hide it. It just tells the reader you’d rather they didn’t ask, and they notice.
/03

A spike is not a following

Anyone can buy a day of traffic. The work worth paying for is the investor who comes back next quarter without being paid to, and the list that’s still yours in three years.
THE PRACTICE

Every discipline,
one team.

The senior person in your first call stays on your file. Design, development, photography, film, and technical writing all happen on the same team, so nothing gets handed to a stranger halfway through.
/01 WHO YOU DEAL WITH

No account layer

The senior lead who scopes your work owns it start to finish. There’s no account manager relaying messages and no handoff once the contract is signed. A team works behind that lead, and you always know whose desk your quarter sits on.
/02 ALL IN HOUSE

Nothing brokered out

Design, development, photography, film, and technical writing sit on one team. Nobody waits a week for a freelancer to send back a first draft, and one team answers for the whole job rather than three pointing at each other.
/03 QUARTER AFTER QUARTER

Nobody starts over

By the second quarter we know your assets, your history, and what your counsel will and won’t sign off on. That’s most of the reason the third quarter moves faster than the first, and it’s the part a new agency can’t sell you.
/04 THE TRACK RECORD

Twenty years behind it

Growth stories from first earnings call to index inclusion, annual reports and investor days for some of the largest names on the exchange, and a lot of quarters in between that nobody writes case studies about.

ACCESS

Two doors.
One is narrow by design.

Websites and hosting are open to almost any public company. Investor marketing is a shorter list, because a campaign only works when there’s a story ready to tell. We’d rather find that out on the first call than six months in, and so would you.
/01 WEBSITES & HOSTING

The wide door

Public companies are the specialty because that’s the work we know cold. Not every site we build is for a public company. If you want a site built properly and looked after quarter to quarter, we can almost always take it on. There’s no readiness test on this side.

/02 INVESTOR MARKETING

The short list

We don’t take on every company that asks, and we’re not trying to. A campaign amplifies what’s already there. If the story isn’t ready, the spend goes out and nothing comes back. We look at that first, because it has to work for both of us.
WHY THE SECOND LIST STAYS SHORT
The websites business is what lets us turn marketing work down. A studio that needs every program it’s offered can’t afford to say the story isn’t ready.
THE LINE

Three things
we won’t do.

Investor marketing has a reputation on the venture boards, and it was earned. These are in writing because they’re the reason a board can sign off on hiring us.
/01

No paid coverage dressed as editorial

If it’s paid for, it says so, in the place a reader will actually see it. We’d rather lose the impression than the credibility.
/02

No promises about the share price

Nobody can deliver that and anyone offering it is selling you something else. We commit to reach, engagement, and a list you own. The market does the rest.
/03

Nothing in the marketing that isn’t in the filings

Marketing follows disclosure, it never leads it. If a number isn’t public yet, it doesn’t appear in a campaign, no matter how good it is.

TALK TO A PERSON

One call, and
you’ll know.

Thirty minutes on where the story stands. If we’re the wrong fit, you’ll hear it on that call rather than three weeks later.
